My interview with Shoutout Colorado

This past month I had the opportunity to participate in my first interview. My friend & talented photgrapher Matthias Marklin nominated me to be interviewed by Shoutout Colorado, an online publication of the Voyage Magazines group. They asked me about my perspective on risk-taking and how it affects my business and life.

I didn’t realize how much of a role risk has taken in my life. Being asked this question really opened me up and challenged me to look at how i’ve become the person I am today.

Being interviewed in general is a really bizarre experience. Like…you actually think my life is interesting enough to ask me about it in a public way? It was a great practice is fighting my imposter syndrome that was trying to tell me no one cares. Regardless of who cares and who doesn’t…everyone’s story is worth being told. Not only could it potentially inspire someone else…in a small or big way…it’s also a really empowering experience for the person telling their story.

I’m really inspired by what Shoutout Colorado is doing, and I’d love to implement a similar interview series here on my site. I’d like to highlight YOUR stories. Those of you who choose to support my business & purchase my art and jewelry. I’d like to hear what has shaped your life…what you’ve needed to shed or let go of to get to where you are today. I think as much as instagram has been an indispensible tool for me to grow my business, there has to be a more authentic way to connect with you all. And maybe this could be it!

As I work on developing a system for these interviews, please sign up for my newsletter to stay in the loop about this and many other things like shop updates, upcoming markets, and what non-profits you are supporting this month.
